Rules of Conduct and Discipline
- Parents are requested to see that their children attend the school regularly and punctually. The school authorities cannot be responsible for the pupils before or after school hours.
- There are three vacations during the year. Summer, Puja and Christmas Vacation. A copy of list of the holidays and important events of the current year is given to the students for information and reference.
- All the students are expected to attend class on the last day before any holidays and the reopening day after the major holidays (Summer, Puja, Christmas). Those absent because of illness must inform the school before or on the reopening day through a letter from the Parent/Guardian.
- Student should arrive at school before the assembly. No one who has been absent may be admitted to the class without the signature of the Principal which a student needs to obtain in her diary after the assembly.
- School premises are to be kept clean. Litter or rubbish is to be disposed in bins provided for the purpose.
- P.T. and Games are compulsory in the school. Those who are injured or sick should take exemption from the Principal. All students of Classes 4 to 10 must wear their House T-shirts and white skirts on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
- As the Indian School Certificate Examinations require high standard of English, English will be spoken at all times in the school premises as further opportunity of practice.
- Pupils who have been absent from class must have the reason entered in the Regularity Record, stating briefly the cause of the absence or delay. No leave can be granted for birthdays or other social functions. You are requested to abide by these regulations. (Reasons of a private nature may be submitted in a letter). No leave or absence for more than 3 days will be granted without a prior written application from parents.
- No Students may leave the school premises without the permission of the Principal and the required gate pass. The observance of the regulation is of vital importance for the safety of the students and for the school discipline. Mobile phones, i-pad, pen-drive and other electronic gadgets are strictly forbidden to be brought in the school premises.
- Students are responsible for the safety of their books and belongings. Any damage to school property will be repaired at the expenses of the person responsible for the damage.
- The pupils of St. Joseph's are expected to behave in lady like manner on all occasions. They must be gentle and courteous to their companions and should address all members of staff with the respect and politeness.
- Refinement of manners, uprightness and self restraint should be characteristic of every student.
- Parents or Guardians may not normally interview teacher or see children during the school hours, but in case of absolute necessity, they may do so with the permission of the Principal. The Principal is usually available for interviews between 08.30 a.m. to 10.15 a.m. on working days.
- Use of School App is compulsory.
